Axie Infinity’s discord server appears to have been compromised, with attackers publishing phishing links that appear to be fake NFT mints. Discord Servers of Popular NFT Collections Hacked Popular play-to-earn game Axie Infinity project suffers another hack yet again, but this time on Discord. On Wednesday, the company took to Twitter to confirm the hack, saying: “There was a compromise of the MEE6 bot which was installed on the main Axie server. The attackers used that bot to add permissions to a fake Jiho (co-founder of Axie) account, which then posted a fake announcement about a mint.” 2/ The announcements have been deleted but some users may still see the message until they restart their Discord.We have removed the Mee6 bot from the server and will never do a surprise mint. — Axie Infinity🦇🔊 (@AxieInfinity) May 18, 2022 In addition to Axie Infinity, other Discord channels from popular NFT collections also appear to be compromised including Moonbirds and PROOF, virtual sneakers company RTFKT, payment network Memeland, and social graph protocol CyberConnect. Some other projects have also confirmed the attack, speculating that the widely-used MEE6 Discord bot might have been compromised.
